Your first paving job in Pave Measure

Start with a job, add checked measurements, build the costs and then review the customer quote. Pave Measure keeps these stages together so you can return to the assumptions behind the document. The app is coming soon for iPhone. This guide previews its workflow; a public download is not yet available.

1. Set up the business defaults

Open Settings and enter your business details. Check the region format and default currency before creating work. A currency selection controls the currency used for new jobs; it does not convert existing rates using an exchange rate. Existing jobs retain their saved currency.

2. Capture the job details

Create a job with a useful name, customer and full site address. Add a concise description of the requested work. Use address lookup when online, or type the address directly. In supported conditions, Dictate job details lets you speak the customer, address and work description, then review the extracted fields before confirming them.

Check names and house numbers carefully. Do not use a successful transcription as evidence that measurements or prices are correct. Add observations and photographs to support the record of the visit.

3. Add and check measurements

Add manual areas or dimensions in named sections. Supported devices also offer AR boundary capture. Check each section and ensure separate areas do not overlap. AR measurements require independent verification; manual entry remains useful when you already have checked dimensions.

4. Build the estimate

Enter the material layers, compacted depths, appropriate densities and ordering allowances. Add your own material rates, labour, plant and overhead. Check the quantity units against the supplier’s selling units before applying rates.

Select markup or gross margin deliberately, review tax and inspect the final total. Save the estimate revision only when its assumptions represent the job you intend to quote.

5. Review and issue the PDF

Check the scope and exclusions against the site notes. Remove unresolved placeholders and make sure the customer can understand what is included. Issue the quote, preview the saved PDF and use the system sharing options to send it through your chosen channel.

6. Return to the job

Use Dashboard for recent work, Quotes for issued documents and Saved Jobs to find and manage records. If the customer requests a change, review the previous quote before preparing a revision. Export a full archive from Settings for your own backup.
